Cardinal Mahoney is Full of…Baloney

I have a lot of Catholic friends. I respect their beliefs even though I don’t share, or have an appreciation for, many of their particular faith quirks. This topic has always been chock full of sticky issues for me because my heritage tradition has within it a lot of concern about whether or not Catholicism’s inherent sovereignty of the Vatican might someday come into conflict with the sovereignty of this nation. To me, early American concern about allowing Catholics to come here in large numbers was not unreasonable. No thoughtful, informed and prudent person who really tries to understand the strong concerns of a nascent nation through the eyes of its wary citizens can find fault in early Americans’ fear of Catholicism’s heirarchy. It could not have seemed far-fetched to them that ‘The Papists’ just might find a way to become ‘The Establishment.’

For most of my life and until very recently, I was cowed by the inappropriateness of openly airing criticism of Catholic leadership. Yes, the priests diddling little boys thing lessened my reluctance to speak. But it has been the priestly, holier-than-thou, open antagonism for my nation’s laws, disdain for my birthright and compassion for one over the other that has made me uncork my bottled up disgust for the the CATHOLIC CHURCH INCORPORATED. I’ve been around Christ’s block enough times to know that charlatans and pretenders are giddy in their lust for finding new ways to warp and mangle scripture to suit all sorts of nefarious ends. This Catholic Church has taken its position in the battle for minds not in best interests of all, but in its own interest in putting more asses in the pews and more coin in the collection plate. This is a money-making proposition; nothing more, nothing less.

So, needless to say, I’m no longer hesitant to let my Catholic friends know about my profound disgust for their church’s immigration activism. I won’t hold back any more in expressing my loathing for their church’s leadership. I’ve left quite a few of them speechless. What sort of comeback do they really have? In many, I can see it in their eyes that they really fear I’m spot-on correct in my analysis of their church’s actions.

I have to add that I’m more than willing to admit there are plenty of Protestant denominations whose leaders are right now plotting and scheming and lobbying to unravel this nation as a grand experiment via the supplanting of our culture and the intentional destruction of the existence of an American majority ethnicity. But Protestant leaders do not have the security of a Pope; the thing I like most about Protestant denominations is that they elect elders, or presbyters, or some other body of lay people who can be replaced if they fall from the path of grace. I believe that there are a lot of Protestant leaders who need to hit the road right now and start trying to find grace again. Let somebody else whose compassion for my child and my family is at least on par with their compassion for lawbreaking interlopers.

If you’re wondering where this vitriol came from, Jake at FreedomFolks got me thinking about this problem again when he posted this:

Here’s how I see this. I see a leader of a Church giving a pep talk to the Mexican version of the KKK on American soil. I’d settle for seeing this son of a bitch pilloried. I’d even line up to throw a rotting fish at him.

Did you happen to notice the “Bank of America” card being shown in one of the shots? Do they sponsor these “Mexican Klan” meeting frequently?

Yes, BOA is a whore for their money. They have a marketing campaign in testing to give credit cards to illegal aliens. It should be illegal for the BOA to use the word “America” in its name or logo.

I’d like to point out that Cardinal Mahoney and the Catholic Church had NO problem using US laws to declare bankruptcy after scores of young men/boys filed sexual molestation lawsuits against the Diocese. They did this to protect the Church’s properties & monies. Thus these young men had to take less of a settlement due to the bankruptcy filing. NOW doesn’t that put and even more hypocritical & self serving perspective onto Mahoney’s et al aiding and abetting of lawbreakers??
